What happens if my child is ill or injured?
We will contact you to ask that you pick them up as soon as possible to prevent cross contamination. In case of injury we will contact you, liaise with you on the treatment action taken and request that you collect your child.
If child is absent for any reason, do I still pay fees?
Is there a reduction in fees if my child is on holidays or the centre is closed due to public holidays?
No, you are still fully chargeable, except when the centre is closed over the Christmas period, no family will be charged.
Can I participate in curriculum planning?
In line with the Early Years Learning Framework we encourage parent participation in all areas of the curriculum.
Is there a parent committee or parent group I can join?
Subicare has a parent driven management committee that includes management representatives. An Annual General Meeting is held where new members are elected.
Is the facility licensed and what is the staff to child ratio?
Basic ratios are put in place by the regulations, however Subicare has a far greater staff to child ratio ensuring quality interactions for your child.
Can I participate in special events/trips?
Subicare encourages and welcomes parent participation at all levels.
Is your centre accredited?
Subicare has always maintained the highest possible accreditation standards. The centre’s accreditation history is available on www.ncac.gov.au
Can I bring food to the centre?
No. Due to the high number of children with acute allergies we do not allow food past the entrance (this includes birthday cakes).
What is the behavior management policy of the service?
Positive reinforcement and redirection is used by educators, on-going behavioral issues are discussed with parents individually.
What illnesses exclude children from attending?
Illnesses that exclude your child from care will be anything considered contagious ie. conjunctivitis, school sores, hand, foot and mouth disease and/or green discharge from the nose etc. See staff for more information.
Do staff represent diverse gender culture and race?
Our staff are chosen according to experience, qualifications and strict selection criteria. We are fortunate to have a diverse, multicultural environment.
When are bills due?
Parents are invoiced weekly via email. Fees must be paid two weeks in advance at all times.
What will happen if I’m late picking up my child?
If we can’t contact you, the emergency contact will be rung and asked to collect your child.
How much notice do I need to give if I stop care?
You must give four weeks notice during this period the child must attend care or full fees will apply (CCB requirement)
What qualifications do staff have?
Subicare employs professional staff to ensure that the best possible care is provided. The staff’s qualifications include a Pre-Primary Teacher, Associate Diploma, Certificate III, and NNEB. Experienced assistants are also employed. A fulltime chef, kitchen hand, cleaners and gardeners are employed for all domestic duties enabling staff to concentrate on interactions with children. A Director and Deputy Co-ordinator who are both non contact are employed for administration purposes.
